Trent is an eight year old Australian boy living in England with a life built around routine, mostly because he attends an all-boy Boarding School as his parents are both full time workers and aren't at home enough to take care of him themselves. He considers himself an outcast as no one seems to give him the time of day. His teachers think he's wasting his talents by not fully utilizing his brains; his classmates ignore him and seem to whisper about him when they think he's not listening and the only person that listens to him is his much older cousin, who is the school's counsellor and just gets paid to do it.
What Trent didn't know was that someone, or something, was definitely listening to him. Because one day he realized that when he thought about ways of getting back at people whom he thought had treated him badly, his fantasies started becoming reality. He first noticed this when the smartest person in his grade got the worst mark on a pop quiz, whilst he got the highest. The second time happened not too long after the first as he'd been punished for apparently cheating on the quiz. The teacher that had disciplined him came down with a bad case of food poisoning a few days later and had to be rushed to the hospital due to being so violently ill.
But the third time was the most brutal. Whilst trying to withhold any negative thoughts he had about the people around him, now under the belief someone at the school had telekinetic powers, he accidentally imagined a girl he liked who blatantly hated him falling down two flights of stairs. It happened the next day. The girl was severely injured and was in a coma for several months.
His mind conflicted; Trent tried to make sense of the situation whilst sitting in his room one night before throwing up in a bucket he was holding just in case. Then, suddenly, he heard a voice from the other side of the room. It was a melodic, yet melancholic voice that seemed to help Trent calm down. He slowly opened his eyes; he didn't dare look up after seeing what were unmistakably women's legs. The voice called again, telling him not to worry and that it wouldn't, nor couldn't, hurt him.
Trent couldn't help himself now; the woman's voice was like a siren song, calling for him so lovingly that it made his mind go temporarily blank. He didn't want to, but he just had to look up, just once. What awaited his gaze was something that brought him relief, yet chilled his very soul. However, his vision seemed to become impared the harder he tried to look, so it was hard for him to confirm exactly what he saw.
The figure moved closer to him, he shut his eyes and rubbed them furiously, thinking this must be a dream. When he opened them again the figure, now clearly a gorgeous young woman, was now staring a hole right through him. Taken aback by this revelation, Trent forced himself to move further and further away from the enigmatic woman before him until he had nowhere to go, unless he felt like trying to break down the wall that his back was now against.
The woman gave a feminine laugh and started to approach him again. When she was within an inch of Trent's body, she moved her head slightly to the left to avoid his face and opened her mouth. In a voice that could've lulled him to sleep she whispered in his ear nine words. No more, no less. "I will make all of your dreams come true". And with that, in the same time it took Trent to blink, the woman had vanished into thin air.
Trent was completely perplexed by this. Was it a hallucination? Had he gone insane? Was he so desperately alone that his mind had conjured up the woman he had just laid eyes on? Like before, too many questions were now going through his head, making him feel sick once again. He decided it would be best to get a good night's sleep, better to think about this with a well-rested mind.
Little did he know just how real the woman was...and little did he know that his life was about to be drastically changed forever.
